How can i tell when my truck was made?

 

My truck was made in june of 96. Does that mean it is a late 96 model?

 

Question asked and answered all in one shot. You are a smooth operator. As far as late '96: probably but not sure.

 

if your truck is registered as a 96 and the build date is 6 of 96 it should be a late 96. model years run june to june. so a truck built in 5 of 95 is usually a 95 and a truck built in 6 of 96 is a 96 model. June build vehicles really can fall either way. but say a truck with a build date of 4 of 95 is a 95 and a build date of 9 of 95 is a 96. kind of confusing!

 

then to throw you off even more, a 12 of 97 is still a 97.......

 

yeah there are always exceptions especially change over years like 97!

 

Apparently '97 was a long year for our trucks.

 

made the buggers all year long, had to get ready for the 99's and use up as many parts as they could

 

Not all parts are used though. But I guess a year and as half is enough.

 

The truck build date does makes a truck a late 96 does not mean the motor is a late 96. Use the motor serial number to determine early or late.
