HELP VIN issues

I know this isnt diesel related but its a diesel truck!!!!

I am buying a truck from a guy and the VIN doesn't match up....at least for me and the Carfax type websites...

Here's the VIN:

1FTJW36N6REA21420

Any insight into what the problem is????

The truck is a 1994 F350 4x4 7.3 IDI Crewcab SRW

I went to my local dealer and gave the parts guy my vin # and he printed a 4 page list of all the information with codes of everything on my truck.

What does not match up?

The 8th position in the VIN is incorrect. 7.3L diesel would be "M", not "N". Unless there were other errors in the VIN, this should be it.

Thanks again.
I used the Ford VIN decoder with the original VIN you posted and it was not valid. Once the correction was made for the engine, everthing was good and valid. "N" was not a engine code used in the SD's, gas or diesel. So, I believe it is a original diesel truck.

I am not sure where 88beast got his info from on the body code types. They also come up as invalid in the VIN decoder.
