If you know someone with a Superchips programer try to load a program into it.My 97 we thought had a program in it because it ran much stronger than my 96,so we borrowed one & the 97 wouldn't accept the upload it registered an error 6.So I put it in my 96 now it is equal to 97.
it's fine guys, i didn't clean the bottom contact off good enough... and jboard, i put the chip in and ran the wire for the switch before the PCM was even in the truck... my truck smokes like a freight train right now!!! defniitely turns day into night!! and man oh man do i gotta get some videos!! oh and guess what... no CEL up through 55! anddddd no tranny slip... yet... haha but this was a $6k upgraded tranny from ford after the first one blew so who knows maybe it's just as good as a suncoast or bts...
ther is no such thing a s "upgraded" ford reman's they are all the same, the only "upgrading" done by ford is the better 4r100 planetary
my dad specifically asked them if they could specially make an upgraded version so it would last, they said ok that'll be $6grand, he said ok go for it and it's lasted 180,000 miles with not one complaint, pulling 12k lb trailers a couple times a month haha anything can be done for the right price, but i will DEFINITELY need a new torque converter
Yea 6k$ for a tranny it better be made out of gold for me to pay that. That must be one heck of a tranny for that price...I would deff wanna see a parts list for that one if I was you, in my opinion that dont sound right. Thats just as much as a new engine would cost.

i'm just goin on what my dad told me... this was about 8-9 years ago that it was replaced so i doubt i would have a parts list laying around somewhere... but i think that it must've been built pretty well since it hasn't slipped yet and it's been around for about 180k miles... that's pretty impressive haha
180 towing heavy loads is definatly good, i am just curious what they put in it,
i have no idea haha but i definitely think it has a pretty good VB in it since when i put the BTS one in it BARELY made a difference, i mean yeah it was noticable but not as significant as everyone said...
