Steering problem

Tonight, my truck decided to mess with my head. While i was turning, all of a sudden, it felt like the power steering was just gone. then suddenly, it worked again. I checked the fluid and i have plenty. the pump isnt making any noise. do i need a new steering box, pump or column maybe?

any thoughts on the subject are appreciated.

Could be bad axle joints if its a 4x4. Bad Axle Joints will cause the steering to stick at times and requires alot of effort to get the wheels turning again feeling like the power steering system is shot. Put the hubs in and drive slowly, if theres clunking comming from the front end then that will tell ya they are shot.

Might want to take a look at your serpentine belt........It's possible it could have slipped some. Make sure there is no noise from any of the pulleys.....let it idle and just listen.
I doubt you need any of those replaced unless it becomes a regular thing. If it does, you should be able to figure it out pretty quick.

Good Luck
Bob
