LOL I thought it was real too the first time I saw the pic!! But that might have sparked the idea for Jim to cast a V12 block!!! That's pretty cool. A V12 HR in a Cobra sounds wicked cool. It must be nice to have a foundry to play in!!!!
Thanks again for taking the time on the cammer writeup. I learned quite a bit from it. Very interesting on the valve cover/rocker difference. I never knew that!! Good to know. I knew about the early prototype heads but not the rocker differneces. I also didn't know the lifter bores were not machined in cammer blocks. Another interseting fact. Wasn't the first prototype cammer block based on a topoiler block molds with wood sideoiler galley planks glued on and small plug details puttied in? I remember reading that somewhere. Casting number was C5AE-G with a Feb 65 date code. I have a pic of the engine somewhere. Also that V12 cammer too I think. Neat stuff.
Not sure on the orriginal block mock up, but that stands to make sence. If you ever saw the FORD photo of the single 4 BBL cammer that has a futuristic aluminum airfilter that looks like the lost in space flying saucer, that engine has early prototype heads with the spark plugs at the bottoms of the covers

Bingo that's the one. The block even had press in freeze plugs. I'll find a pic...
