My brother said his 99 came with the remote keyless entry. But I've never seen him use it, or even the remote. He said that it only worked for a while then quit. Might have just been the battery in the remote.........
It was available, my 99 XLT had it. I'm not sure what year it became standard equipment, or on what models. (For 08 it is optional on the XLT, and standard on anything above that)
Sorry to bump an thread a few days old... does anyone know of a way to find out if my 01 F-250 has keyless entry, I bought it used and they just had a spare key for it. So idea if it had keyless entry or not from the factory.
01 F-250 XLT 4x4... perhaps I can find the module? if someone can tell me where it is or what it looks like.
Easiest way I know of to find out is to try to program a keyfob. Just follow the first few steps of programming and if it enters programming mode then you have it. Here is the step to enter program mode according to the 01 F250 Owner's Guide 4th printing.
Place the key in the ignition and turn from 2 (LOCK) to 3 (OFF) and cycle between 3 (OFF) and 4(ON) eight times in rapid succession (within 10 seconds) with the eighth turn ending in the 4 (ON) position. The doors will lock/unlock to confirm that programming mode has been entered.
Also, for those interested, I have heard that all 08 Super Duty with power locks have the hardware for remote entry. You just have to have a tech with a programmer turn it on in the computer. Then you can program your own keyfobs.
