automatic to manual swap
i have a 96 f-250 4wd w/ e40d trans and would like to swap in a 5 speed manual..has anyone done this? i know what i have to do mechanically but i was wondering about the whole electronic part of it

Did your model come with a mt as oem? If so, find one and take the parts from it. Your computer is going to want to see an automatic, so you need something different there, if not a reprogramming, a new box.
Plus, you need to find a donor for pedals, the trans, etc. That would be your answer.
What about smog tests? You got inspection or pass at pipe?
Better minds will chime in with more info, if past performance is any indicator of future posting.
