Do they need to be from a diesel or are they universal?

I did a zf5 swap in my f-250 4x4. I think the diesels and the 460 have the same bellhousing bolt pattern, anything else will not work. yes you need a 2wd specific tranny the rear housing is different. You need a crossmember, pedal assembly, slave/mastercylinder, driveshaft and clutch/flywheel.

the diesel and the 460 do NOT have the same pattern. I have heard they are very close, but if you do go the zf5 route it has to come from a diesel.
