I recently installed the carriage works billet grille on my truck and as i have a 2005 f150XL, the grille surround is black. I was wondering where i could purchase the surround. I dont mind going to ford for the part...but i do not have the part number. If someone could point me in the correct direction it would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
~jstnromero
Well, they don't sell the chrome surround by itself. You have to buy the entire front grill/grille. I believe the 2005/2006 part number for the Lariat grille is 5L3Z8200HAA. That'll get you the chrome surround on the tan honeycomb. You then just have to carefully (and painfully according to some) remove the surround from the rest of the assembly. Be careful to not break the clips!
You can try your local dealership, but they may put a big profit margin on it. One thing I'd recommend is emailing Torrie at (@) FordPartsNetwork.com for pricing. Along with the Lariat, the XL might work. Just ask him to give you the best price for whatever gets you the chrome surround.
Copy and paste the following search into eBay: (f-150,f150) +ford +(04,2004,05,2005,06,2006,07,2007,08,2008) +(grill,grille) -(carbon,billet,vertical,flying,fan,heritage,titani um,sport,stainless,lightning,guard)
wow guys....thanks for the help it is much appreciated....damn i thought that the thing would be cheaper than that....guess i will have to shop around ebay for a while first. anyways thanks for the help again, i dont know what i would do without fte.
You should be able to get it for $125-$175 tops. F150store is normally somewhat reasonably priced ... but not this time! Email Torrie (if he's still around) and hit eBay. Good luck!
