I can see a use for it if it would be at the top of the list so we all take notice of it when we log on. I don't much about web hosting, just the very basics, but if's some way to have a time limit on so we're not trying to go after something once it's sold I think it would save a lot of frustration and the person listing the item won't keep gettng emails requesting information. Also, once the item is sold or traded you no longer need it listed and clogging up the server taking up space.
Thanks for your inputs, I`m waiting to hear the word on it.
It looks good, they just need to work out the rules and details so it doesn`t get out of hand.
Any thoughts/input on what we would need for rules/details such as the time limit, Ford/Mercury truck items only related, etc? This may help in speeding up approval if we draft some ideas to help out.
Limit the time the post is up, I think this would help save server space. If something doesn't move in the specified time it can always be reposted.
Only auto related, this is a truck site after all, but not just Ford truck parts. Most of us dabble in different makes of trucks and cars. Maybe we have a part from one make but need a part from some other make, ie. I need a Ford carbuator and have a starter from a Chevy or maybe a Chevy guy just picked up a Ford fender that he doesn't want but could use a part for his car. One of us could still benefit by getting the fender.
Also, make it manditory that the poster lists his location. It would help out a lot if you knew where a person lives was who is selling or looking for a part. Why check out a $100 part when it's going to cost $150 to ship it?
I'm for it although most of you are probably too far away from me, and most parts I have are "spare" hood, box etc. and require prohibitive shipping costs.
One general forum, covering all parts available would be handy, and then use the search function. It should be up to the person(s) posting to edit or flag the items that are no longer being offered; by changing some field in the post ?
Could it be linked to a spreadsheet, just thinking out loud.
