got a new one to throw into the mix, i picked up oil for the truck last nite, wallyworld has castrol diesel by me now, its supposed to be for the 07's so its got all the extra detergents and additives in it, the cost was only 30 cents a gallon more then my usual mobil delvac so i will upload a picture of the bottle tomarrow when i change it and i'll check back in in 3k for any differences

Can someone tell me why changing the oil in a diesel would have an effect on performance? Owned gassers all my life & never notice any real difference with them. There may have been some physiological difference though!!

powerstroke injectoras are fired using engine oil, if the oil breaks down, foams or is too thick you lose performance

Thanks for the reply, you really got my wheels turning now!! Should proubly take diesel 101 or for dummies? Now I don't know if I should be putting (oil or diesel) in the crankcase?) Just kidding, does cc oil actually get injected into the cylinders? That would explain the large capacity approx. 14 qts.

No, it forces the fuel in there and then is returned back to the CC.
