injector problems

1996 ford f-250 7.3 5 speed needs new injectors because of o-rings breaking down and causing stumbling and hesitation.

I was leaning towards reman injectors because I can't afford new.

Where would stage 1 reman injectors be cheapest but I want quality as well?

All comments and opinions welcome.

I put in the Stage I remans from RDS in April. Bottom line, I love them. Payed I think 625 out the door for them from Darryl at Diesel Performance Plus. Great guy. I think you would be happy with them. If you are looking for even more power than that, the Stage II's are only 900.

best quality is gonna be beansdieselperformance.com

i would say diy but it sounds like you got some worn injectors and clogged nozzles.

Jim Rose and his DIY injectors get my vote. Nice guy and super helpful and patient getting the kinks worked out of my truck. They are inexpensive compared to prebuilt remans available elsewhere. He's got several options, you can get a DIY kit, or you can send yours in and he'll do the work for you, different warranty, etc. I paid $505 total including parts, repairs, shipping and insurance both ways for mine to be rebuilt to stage 1. He made a few repairs on mine that I probably would not have known about and he tests them when they're done. Zero problems so far, but to be fair I don't have many miles on them yet, I drive my Civic most of the time unless I need the pickup.

Yes, I believe DPP sells DIY parts. I researched DIY, Beans, Swamps, DPP, etc before I decided who to go to. Jim was really helpful and responsive to my emails and even called me to explain his services in depth, so it was an easy decision especially given the price. Most of the time was shipping, a couple 3-4days each way but Jim tore down my injectors and overhauled them in one or two days. I mailed them on a Friday, and they returned the following Monday, so about 10 days total. I'm sure it's faster if you do an exchange instead of having yours rebuilt.

I agree. I just sent mine in to Jim to get a Stage II rebuild on my old injectors. The o-rings were junk. Nozzles didn't look too bad but they were on there way to be clogged.

Close to $40 to ship them to Ohio from Iowa.
