Thanks for all the input. Overnight, though, it seems like my sound-proofing pennies are getting ready to have to be spent on brakes/wheel bearing issues. I'll have to postpone my sound deadening plans for now.
Take a look at home depot. The roofing section has a lot of stuff to play with. If they would list butyl on their driveway or roof patch buckets, I would also give that a try. I think it's Fatmat that has a putty that would be comparable. Then the foam board insulation would be decent behind door panels, My only choices locally have been 3/4 or 1/8, I'd like to find a foil backed 1/4" or 3/8". I am testing acrylic foam sealant in one of my panels, I need to find a better source though those cans are expensive and take a while to empty. If the foam fails, I am going to buy a bunch of pillow stuffing to fill in some panels.
460ft my ***, lol. I bought two 50' rolls ( that's 100' for you) and did the floor, roof, back wall twice, and the tranny cowl area again. No way you used that much on a supercab unless you did the outside of the cab too.
It took me 100sq ft just to do the floor/back wall of my crew cab, which is probably less than 15sq ft larger. I laid 72sq ft in a single layer of tac mat on top of that.
I bought 2 shop packs of Damplifier Pro and have done my floor, all doors, back wall, and the B and C pillars. I still have some left over, but I'm not sure how much.
