Ford installed alarm
I just bought a 97 F-150 4X4 that appears to have a Ford installed alarm. It does not have a keyless entry fob, but has a fob that says ford on it with 2 buttons to arm & disarm. There is a small led that is also a botton to the lower left of the steering column. The fob also locks and unlocks the doors. Does anyone have any info on this? I would like to order another fob if possible since this one is in bad shape. Also, how do I disable it and will it still unlock the doors if the alarm is disabled?

It may be a dealer installed item, you might swing by your local dealer and ask them if they have any info. There is a guy on Ebay that sells all types of key fobs. I got one from him not to long ago. Pretty cheap too.
