This may seem like a stupid question but I have heard two differnt answers. As far as hooking up the trailer brakes, are our trucks already prewired to the cab or will I have to run all the wires?
The plug is sometimes hard to find. It may be pushed p in behind the dash next to the little cubby hole if someone else has not already found it. It has one blue, red, white, and black wire.
u can buy the pigtail from the trailer dealers.. but most trucks come with the pigtail in the glove box ready for you to wire up... and a fuse to put in the charging circuit of the trailer.. then you will need your trailer connector on the back of the truck unless you got the tow package and it already has it there.. i suggest a tekoshona voyager brake controller they are great. ford are by far the easiet to wire for a trailer with brakes and charge lead.
Mine was kind of in between the stereo and the dash vent to the left of the stereo. If I recall correctly it was slightly lower than the stereo height. I picked up a pigtail from a local parts outlet.
