speedo quit

I drive an 01 F250 platnium edition and my speedometer quit today.

It worked just fine yesterday and I parked it , then today went to town and nothing.

any ideas would be very helpful

check your battery. When your battery starts to die you lose electrical at different times amd rates. Other than that your speedo sensor or dash fuses are a good place to start

thank's I didn't think of the battery I did have both of them disconnected fri. i'll try that

Yea and after that the first part I would replace is the VSS on the rear axle. It costs about $15. Is your ABS light on? because they both use the VSS. Not saying it couldn't still be bad though.

tried the batteries that wasn't the problem. the ABS light is not on though but 15$ is cheap enough place to start thanks

Abs light

The abs light might note light up till you start to drive. Mine did the same thing as yours did. I finaly replaced the speed sensor in the rear pumpkin and that cured the problem. easy 15 minute fix.
