there is a bolt or what ever it is under the intake on a 302 in the middle holding it on i got the other 5 out in a 95 f150 on the left hand side underneath that i cannot get of can anyone provide info on this would be greatly appreciated
Are you talking about removing the upper plenum? I believe there is a torx drive bolt in the center on the left that you have to use an extension. Or mabye its just a regular. I'm not sure but I know I had to go at it from the top with an extension
It is a torx head bolt. I think ford threw that in there to screw with everyone. You will need an extention or two on your ratchet to get it out. Good luck and dont drop the bit!
I had a good look in there and there aint much room I know a 1/4 drive wouldnt fit down thru the gap and it looked like a round headed stud in there, well thanks for all the help I will give it another shot tomorrow, I am going to try an put carburetters on the engine and fit it into a 72 mercury capri, is there anything I should know about this engine before i try the swap im hopeing the cars existing gearbox can be fitted to engine by using a mustang bell housing, any info greatly appreciated, thanks

Unless you have a high quality tork set that are small in Diameter .
Go get a cheap set of cordless driver bits . You need a T40 tape that bit into the right size socket and using a 1/4 x 6 or longer extenion you can get it.
Good luck the first time sucks replace pcv valve while in there.
My bad....yes, you need a Torx screwdriver bit, not a 3/8"-drive Torx bit, unless it's the one made for this case (the "bit" part is ~6" long). I tape the Torx bit into a 1/4"-drive 1/4" socket and put an extension on it.
