Too bad no class
Oh and Dueller I'm asuming you didn't calculate the seperate cam i got off of another set, nor the distrubutor.
Oh and it's not like m build is a pile of money, The total will be 900-1000 dollars, how much is yours?
I used the cam kit you bought of Ebay. A distributer will not increase power output, it will only help maintain it to higher RPM's.
As far as the calculation is concerned it had good torque to 3500 rpm then it falls like a brick. Max HP is 225 for the 352, 360 and 390 with that cam.
For cost it will be about $2500 for a complete rebuild. Sure I could finish my other engine for like $250 with all my current parts but what the fun would that be?
Do you want my reciepts? I checked out my wear and with thousand over bearings it will turn out. I have everthing ordered (except distubtor) and in the past 30 das I have spent 867 dollars on eba and 2 of that is for friends parts.
As far as disturbutor if ou are able to use a larger gap, the result will be a cleaner and precise burn, thus you figure it out!
And as I stated that cam is for m 75, the 67's cam was ordered months ago however the valve train assembl will be used.
The distributer doesn't affect the spark gap. You could have .030 or .080 gap and the distributer wouldn't care but the coil sure would. The coil output is what controls the spark gap. You won't see a difference between .030 and .045 gaps. Once you get over .055 then you might see some gains but your generic part store coil won't do it, well at least not for long.
yes I believe it was DUI akin on here once how there and other performance distrubtors that elimanite many old electronic parts enable you to put and use efficiently spark plugs eith the .055 gap and that is exactl what I'm yakin about.
Don't worry works on 302s too.
now I'm sure you'll run it through your computer and tell you what gains that will get blah blah blah
Chasis dno tells the frigen truth
You see this is wh I don't talk about mods, (here atleast) too many arrogant people.
You can run a point style distributer or even the Duraspark ignition with .055 gap. You just need a to have a big enough coil. It will start to lose spark effiecienty after 5-6000 RPM. Have you ever tested a distributer on a distributer machine? If you have you should know what I'm talking about.
Guess what the stock plug gap is for an EFI 302? .048 - .052 right from the factory literature. So is Morris's Crown Vic a high performance engine? Nope
You only need one of those fancy D.U.I distributers if you plan on reving your engine up to 9000 rpm and it is just a modified chevy HEI dizzy.
As far as spark plugs go there are too many variables. Hot, Cold, length, electrode type and engine design. Now explain to me why my 2.0L engine came from the factory with 2 single platinum and 2 double platinum spark plugs?
Yes the chassis dyno tells the real story but what do you think the custom camshaft guys use to make a camshaft profile for your engine? It is just a more fancier version than what I got.
You can call me arrogant but everything I have written is TRUE.
