Banks Transcommand Questions

<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top width="100%">I posted this in the Super Duty forum but had little response so I thought I would try here. I have rescently purchased a 2000 F-250 SD with the V10 and 89K miles. I really like the truck and the only concern that I have is the transmission. I also hate the way it shifts. I have been reading about the Banks Transcommand. I'm not interested in a chip to improve performance but improving the longivity of the transmission is a concern.

Would you recommend the transcommand for a transmission that has 89K miles on it? If so, where is a good place to pick one up? Any other advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Kent

The transcommand increases transmission oil pressure in relation to throttle setting. I installed several before I retired. I felt they did a good job since they did little to make the shift harsh under normal driving conditions but made good crisp shifts at higher throttle settings and heavier loads.

Thanks for the comments! One more question. Would you add a tranny temp gauge to keep and eye on the temp. I usually tow about once a month. The load consist of a trailer with a jeep on it going to the mountains. I estimate the load is around 8000 lbs.
