My son and I went to Motor Magic at Minot, ND today, and saw a ton of cars and trucks. We never made it to the drags, though, but still saw plenty. I have posted just a few of the vehicles we saw in a Photobucket album.
Any idea where they got the front bumper on the orange 56?
Chuck
Unfortunately, no. The truck was being moved by auction staff, so I didn't get a chance to visit with the owner. I would like to have asked him about the taillights also.

Me thinks i'm gonna kick back tomorrow! Spent the last couple of days stripping and cleaning the frame.
Gotta call the blaster Tuesday to see when he can squeeze me in.
LM 14- You need to start a gallery and put some pics of your progress in there. We'd love to see what you've done to your truck.
Taking pics as I go. Will post some next weekend, hopefully.
Got the gas tank and all the fuel lines out today, the exhaust out, steering box and column out, front suspension and all the old motor and tranny mounts out, cleaned the frame off and took a nap!
After the nap, I got the Mustang II cross member and spring hats tacked in, mounted the spindles, 11" rotors and calipers, mounted the new wheels and tires and set the truck at ride height. Looks like things are centered well (moved everything forward 3/8" from stock axle centerline). Mocked the front sheetmetal back on to take a look. I think it will work fine.
I messed up Saturday while chasing my tranny guy and dropping off the axles, I forgot to stop by and pick up my boxing plates! That's gonna cost me at least a day, feel pretty stupid about that one. Will move to the rearend for a couple days until I get the tranny and boxing plates so I can move forward with completing the front half.
Hope everyone else is a tired and sore as I am! I must be having fun.
i rolled my chassis over into my other garage so i can start cleaning out the one it was in.i spent yesterday and part of today building a shelf the whole length of one wall.after i get it all cleaned and organised i can get my other cab off the part's truck and start on it.
It is after 8:30 PM here and it is still hot!!! The cab (minus roof) is clay barred, white polished, and waxed. Half the bed is clay barred and white polished. I am working on the other side currently. It is dark, so I am sure I am missing some places. The little trouble light (60 watt bulb) is not helping much.
I used acetone to get a lot of the overspray off it. I didn't do it...it was that way when I bought it.
I needed to cool off again, but I will be back outside in a few minutes.
I just have tomorrow to finish the waxing, clean the inside well, do the tires and wheels again, and all the glass.
It is starting to look a little better. Even with the horrible paint.
Oh yeah...I had it out on the road again today. LOL
Thought about going to the early iron in Alamosa, but decided to stay home and put a first waxing on the 56 and check oil and air pressure on all the cars. Went fishing today and a drive to the mountains in the 56 to see how it would do on the Colo winding roads. Nice to have 4 wheel discs up there. Found a number of old Fords up there took a few pics. Some are for sale. Going to lay wires for sound system in AM.
Jon
Anyone getting anything done today or is it family day (for those of you with families)?
The body is all waxed. The glass is cleaned inside and out. I still need to do the running boards (been standing on them). The tires and wheels and the chrome.
What all do I need to cover under the hood for cleaning under there? I will use super clean and a garden hose for the worst stuff.
I also need to clean the interior, but that can wait until later.
