I tried to do some work on my truck but the temperature gauge is at 109 degrees, and humidity. Just way too hot and humid and no relief is sight. I'll be hanging out near the air conditioner or making some phone calls to friends with a pool this weekend.

I just threw in the towel for today. I was trying to assmble the heads to a dual over head cam engine and well, the design does not allow for the use of a standrad spring compressor so I had to make my own outta a C-clamp. Anyhow, I started the day with 3 outta 32 valves installed. I eneded the day with 1 outta 32 on. I worry that if I keep working at this negative rate, I may accidently have the tranny apart tomorrow. ARH!!! Oh well, time for my drink of choice: coke.

Good luck to my fellow wrenchers and enjoy the weekend.

let's see:
work today.
drink tonight
some quick honey-dos tomorrow morning
go to Aspen music festival all day: leftover salmon, michael franti, and allman brothers- lots of cold frosty beverages or close to luke warm after being out in the sun all day
put off truck work until monday-maybe some more rust encapsulator in various places, maybe install the frame gas tank, maybe skip the truck all together and go catch some rainbows in the Colorado river.

I have my tranny "almost" together after SIX WEEKS of messing around with it. It started out as a simple "one day project" to replace the clutch.

I haven't driven it since early July... Oh well, I can't wait to drive it without that juddering and rattling when I take off from a light!

Thanks Truxx, If I leave right now, I should make it there by Monday or Tuesday? I'll be bringing the frosty beverages (cokes). BTW- I'm bringing my wife, her sister, her four kids, grandkids and my two boys. Appreciate your hospitality.

That's OK, Ross. My truck has been down for 17 months now. And it all started with a busted valve spring!

I probably have another 8 months to go. Sheesh!!!

my plan this weekend is to get my garage back in shape, you know....... put the tools in the toolbox, and everything else away............(it was getting pretty messy)

i did get most stuff put away and actually shop vac'ed most the the floor before loosing energy....... the just sat out in the garage watching TV thinking about what i could be doing.

might take out rear axle and finish the welding the 4-link brackets and stuff tomorrow.

Got started late last night. Got all but one bolt off the front clip before I had to resort to a torch. Torch is at a friend's house so I had to stop last nightbefore I got it all off.

Got my axles and a new set of drums dropped off today to get drilled to 5 on 4.5 and lost half the day on the road. Did get the front clip off, engine and trans out and also got the interior pretty much gutted.

Got the next week off and trying to get the 289/C4 in (tranny builder is MIA, also spent part of the day looking for him), MII front suspension in and Mustang gas tank. Also have the Flaming River tilt column and Lokar shifter to get in. Just got the booster/MC setup yesterday so I have a full week planned.

Everyone have fun!

LM 14- You need to start a gallery and put some pics of your progress in there. We'd love to see what you've done to your truck.
