89 ford Aerostar (heater problem)

on winter I turn the heat on but takes so long to have some hot heat!! I have to drive to warm up, freezing un'll there!!
can anyone help me?

When was the last time you changed the thermostat? Does it have the right one in it?

can also be the air control door in the heater unit under the glove box

it does blow air, but not hot for while untill gets the car worm up

I wouldn't think it was the blend door. That shouldn't cause the temperature change over time.

I've changed the thermostat on the 4.0 engine but not the 3.0. It's not too hard. If it's not been changed in a while I'd go ahead and do it. They are not expensive.
