Sorry, I don't have 6" of lift, just the leveling kit. Tires are 295-70-17's. Just shy of 35" tall. I have the factory black steps and would like to trade them for the factory plastic 'Running Board', not the tubes that you've got. I have seen a truck with them, 4" lift and 35's, and it really looks nice.

I would keep them regardless. Anyone who is short, overweight, real young or old will have a heck of a time getting in without them. I know this from experience. ; )

short...no one rides in my truck except my dad (6'4"), me (6'4") and my sister bf (6'7")...my girlfriend, well i can give her a boost

Over weight... im the fastest of them all and i only weight 205

Real Young.. i dont like young people (under the age of 18, especially little kids) so this works to my advantage

Old people ... the ones i know already cant get into my truck

I don't have running boards on my truck now or the last one. I like the looks better. Esp on Superduties. I'm not a fan of tubes, b/c i've gotten my foot wedged between the truck and tube in the past. I'd rather fall out of the truck. My truck is already higher than normal, and it does make a difference even a couple of inches. Everyone else complains about getting in it, but guess what... it's MY truck. So tough luck.

The only exception is my Dad, who had a stroke last year and lost half his function. I found a neat little folding step stool that I keep in the truck. I offer it to others who complain, but no one is wimpy enough to admit to needing it so they always pass.

I don't think I've taken one since the new lift, when I get it back from the tranny shop I'll post some. I'm only 5'3" so I couldn't get in the truck without them! The step stool is a good idea, I used to bring one for my ex's grandma, she had trouble without the lift.

So far I'm happy with them. Taller tires would give you more clearance for the differentials, but you have to have the HP to move them. For every 1" taller tire you lose 100 rpm on the top end. Also, I have 2 friends with the same lift and 37's, they bottom out on the fender wells off road. I guess it depends on where and how you drive. I do a lot of off road and pre-running with mine. Hope it helps!

I like the step tubes on. by the time you add 6" plus the taller tire size your steering wheel will get tired of being used to pull you in

I have a 4" w/ 35" tires and I like it better without the running boards. I actually took the drivers side off and left the passenger side on so I could compare ... its not a huge difference in looks but I think it looks a bit better without them.

My girlfriend doesn't like it without them because she is only 5'1" but like you said before just give her a boost and its all good.

Also, 3 of my buddies have chevy 2500's with 8" lifts and 39" tires and none of them have running boards .. theirs are borderline pain in the *** getting in and out. I dont think you will have a problem at 6'4" with a 6" lift and 35" tires.

I think the truck looks better without them. But it is a PITA to get up in the truck. It is a long way up to get in there...

I would suggest saving for a set of AMP retractable steps. Those are awesome. When I installed mine I took my factory steps off a couple days earlier... boy was that a mistake. I bruised my legs many times falling into or out of the truck...thinking that they were there....
