well I don't have a write or any torque specs but I can walk you thru on memory. once the turbo is off the truck remove the EBPV housing if it still on, Then remove the exhuast housing and intake housing both should be held by 4 each 5/16 12 point bolts. then once you get the housings off you need to get a wrench on both the impeller (intake wheel) and the exhuast turbine the spin the impeller off. its right hand thread if I remember correctly. once the impeller is off then the intake base plate is held on by 4 more 5/16th head bolts and it will lift off but do it slowly cause the thrust bearing is right in that housing. once you get the base plate off pay attention to how the thrust bearing and retainer are in there. snap a pic with a digital camera if you have one to help you remember. then remove the thrust bearing and retainer to cheeck for a groove worn into the base plate. if there is its junk and you need another turbo or you might be able to find a new base plate but it could be just as much as a rebuilt turbo. once you have the base plate off you can pull the exhuast turbine out and the shaft and bearings will come with it. take the bearing and the center spacer off and lay them aside. then you will need to remove the piston ring seals on the shaft and I think there is one in the intake base plate. clean the grooves real good with a pick and get all the soot out of them. clean every thing really well with brake cleaner and reinstall the piston ring seals and the bearings then slide the shaft back into te center section and reverse the other steps to put things all back together.
when your done you should have a turbo with zero detectable in and out movement (thrust) and a little tiny bit of up and down movement as the oil takes up that slack.
hope that is clear enough. if you got the part from Ron then call him for torque specs. he will be more than happy to help.
