Does everyones Tranny leak or just mine?

I got a 55 Ford. 460/ C6 combo. I have a small Tranny leak somewhere. Seems like it is coming from the Transmission Oil Pan Gasket. Ive had a gasket. Then I used some gasket maker silicon. It leaks after about a month. Its not leaking alot but after about a month it has a 3X3 ft Tranny oil residue on my floor. Does anyone else have any probs like this. It is annoying the heck out of me.

It is a bother. My Fordomatic had a leak where the selector goes in the side. I finally had to pay a shop $150 to put in a new seal. But now there is no more leak. Jag

I had a Tranny Shop rebuild it before I built the truck. It frustrates me. Thanks for your Feedback.

What year model C-6 is it? Ford had some problems around 75-76 with the C-6 leaking fluid around the front pump. The 460 and C-6 in my 79 came from a 75 and if I park it nose-down for a week, I'll have to add fluid before it will move. There is a gasket and O-ring kit to fix this leak.

My AOD also leaks at the selector, have a new o-ring for it but haven't taken time to put it in. I'm really dreading pulling the pan again but I am planning on using one of those vacuum pump gizmo's this time. Last time I had transmission oil in three counties before it was finished.

Another way to think of it is that it's not really leaking, it's just marking it's territory.
