Projects and beaters

I thought I would move some of the toys around today and maybe drive one for a while. The 54 F250 has been sitting for a couple of months and it has a tire with a real slow leak, so I was going to move it up to the garage to put air in the leaky tire. You might know that the battery was dead. No problem though, I have a new extra battery in the trunk of the Tbird. So, I thought I would use it to jump the 54. It was weak too. Oh well, I'll just drive the Tbird. Nope, it's battery was weak too. I put it on the battery charger. It finally started so it could be moved.

So, I took the 78 Bronco for a drive to try and see if the Lucas would finally get the tranny to shift into drive. Didn't work, so I guess a rebuild is in store for the C6.

When I got home I finally got the 54 going again and if I clean the junk out of the bed maybe I'll even drive it a little over the next few weeks. It isn't real economical at 8-10 mpg, but still fun to drive.

Who else has had fun fixin on these nice warm days.

Changed the oil and lube the front end of Green last week. I may be going back to Colorado Thrusday. I'll know more in a few days. Clint is back tomorrow and I'll find out where eveything is I can finish up checking it over and rotate the tires. Green needs a bath also.

Jr. is on the ignore list. I do need to get the Rust Bullit on it before the stuff goes bad.

I have the same situation. 1 driver 5 trucks = 1 beater, 1 under the engine hoist, 3 have to be shuffled around just to drive.
2 motorcycles = 1 everyday riding, 1 chopper project that has to be finished.

I know the dilema.

I guess there are too many toys, and I should just have one and fix it up right, but I still enjoy each one for what it has to offer. I also need to pull the front calipers on the Super Duty and lube the slide pins as the ones on the drivers side are stiff and creating some problems. It's a 2001, so shouldn't need to be done, but they are one of those better ideas.

My name is Flip and I'm a truckoholic. Hello Flip. I'm Del and I have a problem too.

Forgiveness asked of friends of Bill, but my family thinks I have a car and truck disease.

Pioneer Village is in my home town. They currently have about 350 vehicles. They are kind of fun to see because they aren't the totally restored stuff, but more of the survivor kind.

Pioneer Village was started in the '50s by a man who was originally from Minden. He had made good in manufacturing plastics. His goal was to preserve the history of the prairie pioneers from the 1860's to present. He collected a lot of local historical buildings and antiques. I think there are 20+ buildings along with lots of antiques and farm and small rural community historical items. You can spend a day or two just looking at the stuff. They probably have a website, but I've never check on it. I've been there dozens of times and still see stuff that I missed before.

Never heard of it? There are huge signs all up and down the interstate... :-)

We go about once every 5 yaers as a family.... The girls hate it, but the guys love it... They also have farm machinery, a steam powered carosel, a few boats and what houses look like through the ages...
