Engine block heater Mod

I just installed the plug but I have a question on wiring. I looked on Diesel stop and followed the directions that are posted there. The mod was very simple except for the wiring. In his instruction he said to make sure before you cut the wire that you know which wire is what. My factory plug/wire was flat. I knew the ground because it was green but the other two were black. On one of the black wires there was some white writting on it. On the after market plug, I wired green to green, black with white writting to the black spot on the plug, and the other black wire to the only spot left. I wanted to make sure I wired it correctly. Does the back wires matter which spot it goes in as long as green is in green? Thanks for your help.

As long as you have the green going to the ground it really doesn't matter that much since it is alternating current. I believe (no flames, I'm not an electrician) that the white/black coding is important in house wiring to identify the "hot" wire by convention.
