was wondering if anyone has gotten any of the cheap cps from ford and have been using it, also wondering how they have been standing up?? i just put in my spare one from IH tonight and want to get another for the glove box, but not at 180 bucks, so i was gonna get the cheapy from ford.
I have one in my emergency truck box. 25.00ish from Ford. They are supposed to have a bigger magnent and work better than the older model. I have a IHC one too just incase.
I have one in the glove box next to my ebay ford black unit. I have heard nothing bad from it and feel no reason to worry about it. I think it is finally costing about what it should have in the first place. Matter of fact, I hear tell it is an improved unit. Sounds like lawsuit kneejerk reaction to me.
I guess the answer is no. We're all just carrying around the $25 one in our glove box. I did put in one of the gray ones from powerstrokeshop.com about 5000 miles ago without any issues so far, but I don't know for sure if that is the Ford part.
I have found that some Ford dealers don't mark this up as much as others, so shop around. I bought mine over the internet from a Ford dealer At http://catalor.powerstrokeshop.com/p...tor/index.cfm?
They are out of indianapolis and charge $15.29 for the gray CPS.
