Monsta I added both the K&N FIPK and the Poweraid spacer (at the same time)and my throttle response was GREAT it reved up faster and it added A powerband (sweet spot)With factory exhaust.
As for the air box mod I tried it and it did do a little but nothing like the FIPK it lets so much more air in.With the larger cone filter it must let more in.

Thats why I removed the muffler.(this also helped out a lot)Headers will be next.

I thought the same as you ,As I am always looking for added power I like to try for myself and it was only $98 bucks I figured what the heck. Glade I did try it..and if I didnt like it I could always send it back or sell it on E-bay.

>Certainly not the case with our fuel injected engines.
I also think this way,One benifit is the spacer does take up the slack in the throttle cable and as I figure it must help spin more air in to the intake or speed it up or even compress it alittle? but again for me it helped and my thoughts are I need all the ponies that the v-10 has.So I am willing to try just about anything. As we all know the V-10 is in its infantsey (SP) And we all must find out what works and what doesn't.I plan on trying all that I can (with out wife knowing of course)
Just to let you all know I live in South FL at sea leavel (or just above)if that matters.Because I did notice that my truck runs so much better when its 45 degrees out and I was in Texas.Recorded a record MPGs at 16 MPGs.(that ways a great 2 weeks)
Well I hope this helps In my humble opinion

I think the key thing that gets overlooked is that performance is comprised of many things... one of which is throttle response. Opening the airbox may not give huge power increases (or any power increase at all), but throttle response is almost universally better when the ECU isn't having to wait on air before adding fuel.
