Hey anybody try the Borla system. I don't know if this is right, but from what I found it's only available for 99 v10. The price is about $400.00-$500.00 less than banks. From the pics I've seen I like the collector better on the Borla.

I have the borla headers and catback on my 2001 excursion V10... So it probably fits all Triton V10's.

I have the Borla headers and cat-back. They are great! They should be available for up to 2001 models. The 2002's should be available soon.

Did you guys self install? How are they holding up. Any leaks? Did they line up OK? Big or little change in performance. Does mileage acktually increase?

I'm happy with it! I paid $545 for the headers. I don't remember exactly what I paid for the catback system... But, it was around the same. I did not install them myself. The installation ran around $300-$400.

I paid $530 for my Borla headers. Installed myself. It takes about 6-9 hours. Lots of time and some tight spaces but very doable. Power increase is noticable and maybe 1/2-1 mpg gains. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Does anyone have a sound clip? I went to Borla's site and they have one, but it's hard to know what motor it is since they are saying it fits the 5.4 and 6.8. Judging from the sound, I think it's the v8, but if it's the v10, I will order one tomorrow. I called Borla but they weren't able to tell me what sound file was on the site. I am looking for something a little less aggressive sounding than the Banks. I have heard the Gibson but the for the price of a Gibson in stainless, you can get the Borla.

I don't have a sound clip, but in my opinion it's very mild sounding. Just sounds a little throatier than stock. I also have the headers and I would actually prefer they were a little louder!

I would agree that the Borla system is mild. I have the single 3" cat-back and it's not loud at all. A dual exit system may be a bit louder. I have close to 80,000 miles on the cat-back and it still works great. No signs of rust and no noise increases.
