Borla Vs Corsa

I am looking for an exhaust that sounds good but quiet on the highway with no drone. These are the two exhaust that I feel are worth looking at because of fit, finish and quailty. I really don't want to hear from the Magnaflow guy's because I don't fell they belong in this group {don't get mad}. So if you guys with the Borla and Corsa would purchase it again let me know.

I'm also interested in the Borla and Corsa....

I have Borla's on my Harley, and I love 'em. But on my 06 F-150, that may be a different story..

I never considered Bassani.

WheelMA1, what do you like about 'em and why?

Thanks in advance!

Well Ive run Bassani on numerous vehicles (including my 04 that I just got rid of). They are one of the highest quality systems I have come across. They also have a tone, that to me, sounds nothing like these other manufacturers. Its a very deep rumble, but not intrusive in the cabin area. It is also not super loud, like one might imagine. It is a very authoritative note. If I can figure it out, I will put a link in this thread to a couple video clips of my 04 with the Bassani system, so you guys can hear it for yourself.

I knew and still know very little about exhausts but I chose the Borla and I am very happy with it. At idle there was very little difference but step into it and it sounded great. I don't even notice it on the highway. The only thing I notice is the cold air intake sucking air when I step into it. I definitely would buy the Borla on my next truck. Good Luck

Here you guys go: http://home.earthlink.net/~metalsped/bassani/

The only thing I ask is that you right click on the files, and save them to your computer. I dont know what kind of bandwith Earthlink gives me, so Id like for as many people to check these files out as possible, before they shut me down (a possibility...there are a lot of people in this forum ). Let me know what you think!

My 04 FX4 came with an aftermarket exhaust and I have no Idea who makes it. Is there a way to find out what kind of exhaust it is by looking at it or is there some sort of marking that I can look for? By the way it sounds very similar to WheelMA1's, I really like it though, no complaints.

A lot of times, the aftermarket company will stamp their name or logo into the muffler case. Bassani does not do this, but many do. Past that, Dont know what else I can tell you.

I also have the Bassani single exit system, just put it on my Supercrew a few weeks ago. LOVE IT! I was also considering the Borla, which was more money than this and didn't sound as good on the sound clips I've heard. The Bassani stainless steel system is about the same price as the Borla (at ProficientPerformance.com), also comes with a lifetime warranty, and was absolute cake to install. It really opens these things up, more so on the highway I've noticed. I considered the Corsa but they are, and always have been, an overpriced system.

WheelMA1,

Thanks for the movies. Your truck sounds great. Looks like bassani is in the running. Instead of narrowing the field, looks like it has been expanded...

If anyone has clips of there Borla or Corsa systems, please post 'em.

Thanks again!

Are you looking for a bolt on kit, or just a muffler and custom pipes?

I like my Flowmaster 50 dido, but my system is not a bolt on, but rather a system built around the muffler...I.E. a custom fabrication. No muffler clamps what so ever on my exhaust.

As far as sound goes, my setup isn't near as raspy as Wheel's (no offense meant) at WOT, it just rumbles all the way up the rpm band.

I have a buddy with a Silverado who keeps telling me to turn my truck on when he's around to hear the Bassani. He wants the dual system for his truck, and even went so far as to say he likes the F150 Screw better than his extended cab Silverado. Had a bit of a smile on my face that day.

Rich, on a side note, you may be able to just order that headpipe extension directly from Bassani, if i still have the parts list at home from the kit, I'll send you the exact part # for that pipe.
