First off, FTE is AWESOME! I don't post in here much because I usually do a search and find the answers to my questions.
I did a search on the 6637 DIY intake and found the part numbers of the 4" exhaust pipe to order from NAPA. Went to NAPA this morning and ordered the filter and pipe and they'll be in tomorrow.
Just wondering what kinds of experience you all have had with this setup as far as fuel mileage and power is concerned.
You wont notice too much from it with out having an exhaust to move air through the backside, but it is a very good start. Your engine will run a bit better with more air flow.

Thanks. Exhaust is next on my list, I was thinking of going with the 4" MBRP turbo back kit.
I heard my turbo more fore sure, you may hear other sounds you could not hear as well also e.g. my exhaust brake was more pronounced, but as far as power and fuel mileage I was making to many mods to single that one mod out, but the peace of mind of knowing you have a filter in place that is not going to leak is worth every penny. I sealed all of my intake joints with silicone cause I like my turbo. By the way when you are checking for more power you are not checking for better fuel mileage
For the most part those 2 mods will only reduce your EGT's there's not much, if any, performance gain. Like Neal said Performance and economy are opposite ends of the spectrum.
Gee thanx cuda (blushing) but really bkcowboss said it. Am I on your mind. I am not sure if that scares me or not. Credit goes to bk.
Back to topic, When I did the air filter on the wife's EX it made a very small difference in mpg but I can hear that turbo very good now. You will like it when it whistles. The Exhaust helps even more...PMS begins
i agree that you dont feel much performance difference and it will prolong engine life but i dissagree that power and economy are opposites on our trucks, i have been steadily increasing mileage with modifications
