Ok, I'm still having issues! I have swaped the starter out for a new Alert 550 with the 2way LCD remote. I used the module from ebay for the locks. I followed the instructions for the module and remote. WHen I click the locks, the module is clicking, so it is working. But it still wont unlock my doors!

Is there any other way to test if I have a Type A, B or C system? I would REALLY like this to work, but its starting to look like its not going to happen!

One thing I noticed, was when I was wiring the door wires, one of the wires bumped the body of the truck, and it unlocked (when it was grounded). Not sure if that gives anyone an insite as to whats going on, I'm not sure how the wires are suppose to work (positive or negative). Here is how I wired them:
http://www.the12volt.com/getimage/5wap.gif

With the module I wired it like this:

Purple/Black Pin 87 Lock/Unlock Normally Open-> +12v fused

cut lock wire
Green/Black Pin 30 Lock Output->body side of cut lock wire
White/Black 87A Lock Normally Closed->door side

cut unlk wire
Blue/Black Pin 30 Unlock Output->body side
Brown/Black Pin 87A Unlock Normally Closed->truck side

The green and blue wires went to the green and blue wires on the starter, and the red got +12v.

Anyone have any thoughts?

all my install guides say to use the pink/yellow wire for lock. use the pink/lt green wire
for unlock. both wires can be found in drivers door harness. run your tests again.

note with out keyless entry you system is a type c. rev pol.

If I was there I could have hands on and fix it.
just check everything. if you still have trouble you may have to pay a shop to check
it out. that would be better then burning up the truck wirring.

I'll run the tests again. I've dont it several times before, but it always comes back as Type C.

Is there anytime more i can test with a voltmeter or anything that will help solve this? I'm normaly very good with wiring, but this is just really messing me over!

I should have some time tomorow to look at it (if its not rainning) so maybe I can figure it out. Everything is working out to the wires on the module as I can hear it clicking, but nothing after that!

On the module, I had to cut the end off the 3wire plug (blue, red, gree) to work with my system, the red wire on that was suppose to get 12volts correct?

Problem solved!!!!! The wire on the module that was marked +12v need to be grounded instead of powered!!

So it looked like this:

Purple/Black Pin 87 Lock/Unlock Normally Open-> GROUNDED

cut lock wire
Green/Black Pin 30 Lock Output->body side of cut lock wire
White/Black 87A Lock Normally Closed->door side

cut unlk wire
Blue/Black Pin 30 Unlock Output->body side
Brown/Black Pin 87A Unlock Normally Closed->truck side

on your year truck keep it some place safe. you may need it again if
you ever take it apart for repairs.
