sorry to bring back a thread that was dead, but superdutyjoe, id like to know how your swap is going / went with the 5.9L 12V and the ZF-6... and were you using a manual tranny or automatic
The project has been put on hold indefinitely. I bought my brother's 2004 F350 with the 6.0 and a 6sp in it so now I really don't need to make my own. I still have it all planned out where and what I was going to get to make it fit in the truck and tow like a freight train. If you have any questions on where or what to get, I would be glad to answer them.
Oh yeah, I was going to be using a manual trans. Still trying to put off having a vehicle with an automatic as long as possible.

I understand, see right now i have a 5.4 with an auto 4r100 tranny.
The stick shift can be put into my truck but i guess it takes a little fab work.
I keep thinking how sweet it would be to button a cummins (worked up of course) to a ZF-6 or allison all on my 2003 ford chassis, man that would be a work horse for years to come
If you go to DESTROKED: Cummins Conversions they have a lot of cool stuff on there and basically have everything you need. They have an adapter plate and stand alone computer with harness to make a cummins work with your 4R100 trans or to adapt it to an Allison and stand alone computer. The motor mounts to install it, the kit to get your tach to work, and it's all some really nice stuff. If you order everything through Autoworld of Montana, Auto World they are really helpful if you have any questions and they convert these trucks every day so they know what you are going to run into.
My cummins was going to be slightly warmed up too.
6.0 PSD intercooler
#5 torque plate (I have a 1994 12V with the P-pump)
Borg Warner S300G turbo with 4" down pipe
215hp injectors
Stud kit for the head
Killer dowel pin tabbed
Head modified to get better airflow to cyl #1
3 piece exhaust manifold
That should have made it have some snot. Maybe one of these here days.
