Question Tank size...

Hello all. As some of you may know, I have a '86 Bronco II Eddie Bauer. I've read in a few places that it has around a 23 gallon tank. I ran it down 'til the Low Fuel light lit up, and the kneedle was right on top of Empty. I put 2 gallons in it, and it filled it to a hair under half a tank on the meter... When I filled it all the way up a few weeks ago, when it was a hair under half a tank, it took 15 gallons... Any thoughts on tank size? I think it's a 17 or 18, but I could be wrong. I don't think that it will run on empty equivelent to another 6 gallons...

Many times when the fuel sender fails on Bronco II's, the gauge will drop off sharply
after reaching the 1/2 tank level.

It's a 23 gal tank. The sending units fail like that. Mine did. You can replace the guts inside the tank as a unit. They install from the top of the tank. Tank is easy to remove. Skid plate, 2 straps and it falls out.
