Qu: Re: V-10 Ford CHICANE vans in particular. Does anyone know...

HELP!!!! I'm looking for any info on Ford CHICANE's. What years were they built (I assume after 1997 because of the V-10)? Retail cost when new? Paint colors? Options? Production numbers?
Here's what I've been told:
1.)They were based on the Econoline Van, but which one?
2.)They were made especially for motorcycle racers.
3.)They only had the Triton V-10 engine.
4.)They had a ramp in the rear for loading and unloading your motorcycle.
5.)They had two "barn doors" on the side that opened outward.
6.)They had an awning over the side (kinda like a shaded work area for your bike)
7.)They had tool boxes/shelves on the inside.
8.)They may have had wheels specific to the Chicane van only (not sure).

If you have any info to add, it would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks a lot! -Justin

Well this is the kinda stuff that I LOVE. After 20,968 entries in my search engine pulled up, and after I looked at perhaps 2 or 3 thousand of them, I can't find a thing out about them. I will eagerly look forward to someone having some info, Ken 98 E-350 V-10.

I would bet it is not made by Ford but a thrid party who based on a E350 or E450 cutaway chassis, just like an RV or any of the thousand utility trucks based on the Ford F450/550 chassis.

I talked to Ford customer service today and their research department will be emailing me soon. Hopefully I'll have some info to share soon. I have a picture of it and saw it awhile back in a few magazines. Maybe I can figure out how to get it on to this site. -Justin

Ford research got back to me today and said that they know it was made, but aren't sure if it was a U.S. model?! Duh, how do they think I found out about it? I saw one here and also read about it in two or three mags.
They plan to further research the issue and will get back to me.
Note:
I HAVE POSTED A NEW THREAD ABOUT THIS ON THE F-150, E-150, ECONOLINE MESSAGE BOARD/THREAD, SO MAYBE ONE OF THE BIG VAN ENTHUSIASTS WILL HAVE SOME INFO TO SHARE. FEEL FREE TO CHECK THERE. THIS WILL BE MY LAST UPDATE ON THE V-10 BOARD BECAUSE I WAS TOLD THAT APPARENTLY IT WAS THE WRONG ONE TO POST ON. THANKS!!! AND, AGAIN, IF ANYONE HAS ANY INFO PLEASE SHARE ON THE OTHER BOARD. I'D GREATLY APPRECIATE EVEN THE TINIEST TIDBIT.
