boxes the stock clutchs do handle it of a while but right now what is as the weakist link is the stock converter clutchs and the 2-3 ,3-4 clutch packs. which can't handle to much pressure for very long.
from what i see dayly to many young guys are over pushing the limits of even the strongest of strongest rebuilds by over tuning and over laying the tunners. tuner wise what i see a lot is a certian big name switch on the run tuner causeing a lot of problems by lowering the line pressures.
just be carefull guys. we are still prototypeing these units and find ing more bugs out every day. if your truck is reflashed by a dealer. make sure you convert the tunner to the NEW box code or you could hurt every thing in a matter of a few miles. we have right on the lift with wrong tunner file box codes. also AFTER YOU RUN A NEW TUNE INTO THE PCM. drive the car or truck about 30 miles, start of slow shifts about 20 times, medium shifts about 20 times and full wot shifts the same. this allows the pcm to properly readjust it self and set the shift points better.
we have tried almost every way out but doing this has almost stopped all come backs we were getting blamed for after a build up.
now i think if we ever saw a 600 inch gas motor from ford it just might have the 6 or 7 speed auto behind it. time will tell us proper.but mean time i have to fix what dose break every day and stock units do break big time.

I have logged over 250,000 combined miles on my 2005/2006 V10's and had no trans trouble...oh BTW, I have tuners in them! I run a custom tune..I haul heavy loads and drag race my trucks on occasion!
I was shocked at how lame the "canned tunes" were...I gained over a full second in the 1/4 mile from the "race" tune to my tune... Oddly enough, not much was gained from timing and fuel trim...mainly shift points helped the most.
