Just yesterday I went to clean the EBPV and the tube, I could not budge the nuts holding the tube on in the front. How or what is the best way to get that thing loose? I spayed it with WD40 and still couldn't budge it. I did get the senser off and boy was it clogged along with the tube. I did call ford for a new senser part# 4C3Z-9J460-A and thay wanted 137.27 for one and 51.37 for the tube. Is there somewhere to get one cheeper? If the tube is clogged will it play an affect on performance? It does run fine, will it run better? Still get about 16/17 MPG.
Thanks to everyone who can help with these questions.
Jeremy - Did you have a 1" deep well socket for the sensor? I had to buy one to get mine loose. Check out guzzles mod. section -Great write up on this repair.

I did get the sensor out, I just couldn't get the tube loose. I busted my hands up being tight with the fan and all. I did read guzzles write up on how to do this, I just didn't have a "crows foot" wrench and had to use the standerd. I just couldn't break it loose no matter what I did, plus my hands and knees where getting sore..
I did mine last week it was really tough to break loose. I sprayed it down with some WD-40 and let it sit for a while and then tried again. It did break loose but fought me all the way off. Turns out that once I got it off the threads on the bracket nipple were galled. I had to use a die (1/2-20 SAE) to chase the threads on the nipple before reassembling with a new tube. You might have the same situation. The bracket will need to be removed if you do need to chase.
Jeremy- Had the same problem- didnt have the crows foot wrench either- Try long sleeve shirt & gloves so you dont get cut up - May have to use a short pipe nipple & make a cheater bar to break it loose. I know its tough & space is very limited . I know I'm probably telling you stuff you already know but hope this helps.

Jeremy, a couple of weeks back when Rampage and I did this my tube was split.
Go to local auto parts store and get a 3/16 x 36 inch brake line $3, a cheap tube bender $9, and a double flare tool $7. cut off one of the preformed flares, and take the two fittings off the new line. take the fittings off old line and put one on new up to the reamining flare(do this now or you won't be ablw to slide the fitting from on end to the other due to your bends) use your old line as a template and bend the new line (it doesn't have to be perfect, just dont crimp the tube in a bend) put remaining old fitting on new line and flare. reinstall.
