1999 Ranger auto trans Q please

Need to check the fluid. There doesn't seem to be a drain on the tranny. It was replaced about 15K ago. Now I need to check fluid, etc. There is a place to add fluid, but looks like I need a special item to do this. Where to start? Thanks.

I'm confused. I would think yours is the 4R44E or the 5R44E tranny, both of which use dipsticks (neither has a drain plug).

There is no such dipstick poking up through he passenger side of the engine bay on your '99?

There should be a plug on the top or side. IF the fluid level is up to this top plug, then it is full. The transfer case fluid should be replaced at least every other time the transmission fluid is serviced, if not every time. To drain it, I think you are expected to open the case, but I would get a second opinion on that first before you try.
