Differential Fluid ?

Differential Fluid ?
I need to check levels of mi differentials but I need info about which fluid should I buy. I came to store and requested for fluid, but they were giving me Transmission FLuid. is the same fluid from ATF to differential??

Unless they are leaking, you shouldn't need to add any. Any name-brand 80W-90 GL-5 lube should work. Ford specifies "4x4 Gear Oil" for the Dana 44 front and "Premium Rear Axle Lubricant" for the Ford 8.8 rear. Ford specs and part numbers are listed, but no practical information as to what to buy. This information is from the shop manual. If you have an owner's manual, there might be better information there.
