First off, hi all. This is my first day as a member and on the site. I absolutely love it.
Real quick, I have an 06 F-350, CC, longbed, 4X4, 6.0 and torqueshift with 18,000 miles. Upgrades include edge juice platnium, aFe intake and aFe 4 inch catback duals with 5 inch tips.
When I run tune 5, extreme, or tune 6, hot, the transmission shifts poorly, to say the least. It has even failed to start in first gear a few times. I actually thought I smoked it at half throttle from a standstill. I have tried re-learning the trans with no luck. Is there a fix for this? Anyone on this site run the edge juice platnium? I have the trans safety features enabled, TC lockup, TC slip protection, etc, but they don't seem to be working. Thanks in advance for all the help. Chris
If you'll do a search for the EDGE products you'll see the consensus is that the edge will cause you tranny problems, poor shifting, etc. Despite what changes they've made to it it still gives problems. Your best bet would be to sell it and get an SCT programmer that will properly tune your engine and transmission by reprogramming the PCM and TCM instead of fooling them with the plug-in module.
Have a buddy that went through 5 trannies with the edge. That in line tuner has some bad mumbo jumbo. Cut your losses now and get a custom tuned SCT. Overall you will lose the investment of the edge, but it will save you thousands in trannie replacement cost. The SCT is a great tuner, and I was very skeptical. Boy was I wrong! this is the best tuner I have ever used.
I would talk with Matt before removing the Edge. I read a post of his recently where he said that the Edge w/Juice could be set on "0" and used as gauges while running his tunes via the SCT. That way the Edge would not be a total loss.
I switched to Matt from Edge, and for a few weeks I used the Attitude for my gauges set to zero. That will work, but now I have dedicated gauges, and have to pawn off my Edge stuff to someone on Ebay.
Thanks again everyone for all the great information. I will be notifying Matt shortly. From my reading, he appears to be extremely busy. Hopefully he will have some time in the next couple of weeks to hook me up. Chris
i don't have a turbo timer. I just wait till the egt is below 400 to shut down. My remote start has a built in delay for diesels for the glow plugs. I think most have that option.
