i wonder if you could get diy-stage 1's and some stage 2 nozzles and see an increase in power. just thinking out loud, but if you get bigger nozzles then a little more fuel is allowed into the cylinder allowing for more power and smoke.
I am ready for injectors. Especially since Im getting fuel in the crankcase and a rough idle.
There is almost 300k on my stock injectors. Should I be looking at the DIY and doing it myself, or is it more likely they will need more work because of their age?
I am in Canada, and shipping back and forth is a real PITA. I'd do the budget thing, but it would leave my truck down for a month plus. Not good.
those programmers are designed for stock injectors. i doubt (although i could be wrong) you would noticxe any difference with stage 1's and the programmer. to really get the full potential from stage 1's you need a custom chip from tony or jody. either/both will REALLY open your truck up like you never thought possible!
I dont know what parameters the chip modifies which is why I asked the question.
Does a superchip change hpop pressure and regulated fuel pressure through programming?
I read about a pair of 96's in DP that dyno'd over 400 hp with almost my exact recipe. Same chip, injectors, exhaust and cooler. I just dont have a straight filter and variable turbo.
I dont really want to dragrace, just looking for modern/reliable power to pull from my old girl.

well what are your specs?
i just dont see how a programmer made for a stock truck could possibly take advantage of bigger injectors. its the same reason a Tony or Jody chip is burned for a stock truck and then has to be reburned by them after injectors and turbo (etc) to tell the engine how to better take advantage of the new upgrades.

To date
95 psd F350 CC 4wd, with 400k km's
Tricked out E40 which is actually a newer A40 or whatever its called case and steel planetaries with E40 computer, valve body and stage 1 shift kit, hardwired solenoids, upgraded clutchpacks, cranked up accumilator, deep aluminum pan, and a TCI converter
Superchip programmer
4" downpipe
4" straight pipe all the way back, no cat of muffler
My to do list is gauges, 99 intercooler which I have, and DIY budget stage ones going on right now. And hopefully methanol for the hills soon down the road.
After I am done, I will play with the programmer and see if there is a difference. If not, I'll sell it to my buddy with a 99 stocker. It makes a big difference on his.
I was just wondering if I am in there doing all this work, if it is worth it or not to do the fpr and resistor mods or not.
bnine, you won't see a hp improvement from the FPR shim but it's a good mod to help feed others. You will see a 7hp/30tq gain from the 10k with your superchips. I proved that on the dyno. Definately do both of them. But if you upgrade to a DP or TW you won't need the 10k anymore as the do it in the programming. But definately do the FPR shim. It's easy and free if you have bb's. Not to mention it smooths idle a bit too. Yes, they are worth the time.

i thought stage 2's are the same as one's but with the bigger nozzles?
its bedtime, i'll post the link tomarrow of teh ones i am thinking of, i am pretty sure they said the stage two's were the same as the ones internally but the 2's had the larger nozzle. oh easier to find then i tought... http://www.beansdieselperformance.co...injectors.html
