My 2002 Excursion 6 CD player is presenting an error meesage on display and will not play CD's. Radio on ubit still works. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and how do I get my CDs out of the unit. Any suggestions for a replacement. Thanks
I tried most of the techniques on this site to fix the problem with my CD player. I ended up taking it out of the dash and taking the unit apart to get the CDs out. I put it back together and it will load and play CDs but won't eject them without using a credit card. So I had to order a new one off of e bay.
tried another idea someone else posted... pulled fuses to the radio, and reinstalled them after 30 minutes. All seems to work again, and didn't lose my presets as I though that i would.
if you unplug power from the unit for 20 minutes it will rest the indash cd changer
also holding the scan and button 1 when it shows wait release and it will move the cd changer to the front called shp mode ,remove the fuses or negative terminal from the battery when the radio is power again it will move the cd changer arm to the back and start over
Mine is in a 2000 Ranger. Is a single disc player with cassette. Cassette and radio work fine but CD will not play or eject. Will try pulling the fuses and see what happens.
