Do I need a code# from dealer for 6-CD player?

Hello,
I'm planning to upgrade my single-CD player to a 6-cd player on my 02 explorer. Do i need the VIN# where the 6-CD player came from, and its serial # and do I need to call Ford to have the 6-CD activated for use in my car?

Hey Jack,
I don't think so. You are putting in the same 6disc I sold from my truck. No need for any sort of activation. Just plug it in and it should work.
