After reading that article I am convinced that this junk helped shell a friends motor. He bought a used Chevy 1500, had about 60k on it. It had a 350 in it, a pretty proven engine surrounded by junk, but I won't go there. :-) Anyway, after he buys it the guy is giving him tips on maintenance. One thing is the guy put slick 50 in it all the time, and was proud of that fact. Less than 3k later the engine spins a main bearing and self destructs. Maybe all that "miracle" PFTE finally took its toll and blocked the oil from lubricating that bearing. That incident really put doubts into the use of that junk and this article seals the case. Thanks Monsta!

Fred Rau, the author, knows his stuff! His article is the first thing I usually read my issue comes in. :-)

I did not read the link but one think I was told years ago was that many of the addatives will addhere to the metal and that is great the problem is when they do they also do not let the anti oxidants in the oil adhere and that allows rust or oxidation to start which will without a doubt ruin a motor.
