squeak in 413
I have a 413 chrysler motor in my 79 ford tow truck and latly i have noticed a high pitched squeaking niose coming from the motor. Id like to get some of your ideas on what it is because it realy sounds bad. I have allready taken off the belts to see if it was coming from the accessories but its not . any clues on what it could be would be greatly apriciated. Thanks

What is the frequency of the squeak? Crank speed or half? That would indicate mains vs. valve trouble. Can you use a stethoscope and isolate it?
Shame to risk loosing the block if you can tear it down before it blows.
Plus, they never blow just outside the shop on a little hill so you can roll it over to the shop door, now do they???
