I have a 2006 f150 4x4 truck. It has the 5.4 V8, automatic motor. The 4x4 is NOT the shift on the fly. I have the 18in rim set.
Within the last few days I have been hearing a pretty loud squeaking noise coming from what seems like under the cab of the truck. This happens when I press the gas. If I am coasting, I do not hear this noise. It also makes this squeaking noise when I am backing up. Also, the truck shakes pretty good from around 25MPH to about 65+MPH. Has anyone had any experience with this type of sound/issue? Thanks.
Well it sounds like a bad U-joint. When you are hitting the gas it is applying torque to the joint causing the squeak and shake, but when you are coasting the joint is under no load and can rotate freely. It is the only thing I can think of that would cause the squeaking and shaking. Unless it is two separate problems.
