Hi Everyone I need a little help. My 03 V10 has a shudder at Idle. When I picked the truck up last saturday it ran smooth as silk did not even know it was running. I installed the AFE magnum kit at 639 miles. I also use premium fuel. I know it doesn't call for it but I don't mind paying the extra money. I also disconnected the battery for an hour to reset computer. Now my truck has a very noticeable shudder at Idle you can feel the engine shake when In neutral but its not as bad when in gear. And I think that the Idle is to high. In neutral the Idle is around 750-800. And in gear the Idle is about 650-700 I don't know if the AFE filter has something to do with it. Maybe some oil from filter got on the MAF wire. Or maybe the IAC is bad already.I know I need to put the stock air cleaner back on to verify my concern. But I left it in pennsylvania so I wont be able to do that till next weekend. I'am just looking for a little insight if anybody else has a rough idle on an 03V10. And what your rpm's are at idle and in gear. Thanks for any replys this is really bothering me. Any suggestions appreciated Thanks...

 

Not sure what the magnum kit is, but higher octane fuel is actually harder to burn than lower octane. It has to be harder to burn to allow more compression without pre-ignotion. Try running a couple of tanks of quality regular thru it.

Like Jim said, put the 87 oct back in, if that dosn't do
after a tank or 2,"Take it back to the dealer, and be careful
what you do with a "NEW" truck like that, the dealer could be a little rough on what you tinker with.
