ok I have had this problem before, I used the proper tools first (oil filter wrench, both strap and metal). Then went to the screw driver(shredded it) and finally cut it off with a dremel. I know the usual cause is someone failed to lube the gasket before putting it on( wasn't me).
My wife let someone do her oil change the last time. Now I am changing the oil and same darn problem, stuck like chuck. I have done the same things as above and am in the process of cutting it off carefully. !@#*#!!
Does anyone else have another way of doing this that has not made it to my vine yet? If you do please enlighten me for I am about block up the truck and use it as a dumpster!!!!!!!!(in the front yard of course)
I use a VERY heavy duty steel oil filter wrench that is 4" wide. It will grip the tightest filter without collapsing it and spin it off using a 1/2" drive 2 1/2 foot long breaker bar.
It's made by K-D and I will try and find the part number after this post.
