2000 Kia Sportage
I know this is a ford truck site, but I only trust fellow FTE members on subjets so here goes. It's a 200 kia sportage 4wd 2.0 I believe and it just died no warning of any kind. No CEL or nothing. I'm gonna start by buying a manual, checking for spark, blown fuses etc., but how do you check for fuel on a fuel injection vehicle? This is not like my '52 if it quits check the points, fuel pump, and so on. This thing looks like a big nightmare to work on. Any pointers? Thanks in advance. JOE

I am gonna guess the rubber band snapped.
I don't know if this is an interference engine or not,
You need a gauge to check the fuel pressure, attach it to the fuel rail.
If you can get a socket on the crank shaft bolt and pull out the oil filler cap, try turning the crankshaft and see if the camshaft will turn. Don't turn it too far.
It has a rubber cog belt for a timing belt.
